My Official Warhammer Doesn't Suck Post
Hmm, upon further reflection and a quick Vaginal Sand Reduction - I have to say I am actually liking Warhammer. For one thing I much prefer their Flight system to that of WoW. A short animation, a short loading please wait and Bam! - you're there. In fact had Warhammer been released at a different time and with a few less "bugs" it prolly would have done quite well.

My official Warhammer sucks, is dead and deserves it post
Tried it. Would never buy it. Won't even play it for free. Period. First off - the interface is a cut & paste job of WoW's UI, which by itself may not be a bad thing. Word looks like WordPerfect and Star Office and that's a good thing as it makes switching from one application to another very easy, but Mythic and EA games forgot one thing - making a game look like the most popular MMO of all time doesn't make your game fun. Warhammer just straight up isn't any fun. Although the UI looks like Blizzards World of Warcraft it is far clunkier: the cursor feels sluggish, the characters animations are jerky, the targeting system is inferior to many games, the map system needs a rewrite,.. etc etc.
Here's a great example of how Mythic just doesn't get how to make a fun game. I started a Sorceress (generic ranged DPS) character. At level 3 I got a buff spell that raises my resistences. The spell lasts 20 seconds and has a cooldown of 60 seconds. Ok so it's a "oh fuck" spell that I'd cast if I'm getting pummeled? Not really as the small resistence increase won't save yer butt at all. So, then it's a "maintenance" spell. By maintenance I mean every bloody 60 seconds I have to keep casting it, so I can have its paltry effects for 20 seconds. LOL I hate shit like that in games. Would it have been so unbalancing for it to last 5 mins or 15 mins or permanently? Warhammer has so many balance issues, especially with RVR, that having a character get a decent buff spell early on would not have done anything to the game except minimize the "busy work" aspect of it and make it... here's that word again ... FUN.
Players like little glowing buff icons next to their names - so give them some. Players like "dinging" or leveling - so give them some. Players like immersive environments where they feel that they are making a difference to the storyline - so give them some. Whatever, I am not going to list all the fundamentals of making an enjoyable and dare we say addictive game. Why should I help Mythic out of their hole? They made a shitty fail game and they deserve their fate.
What design studios and developers need to understand is that the heady days of EQ and UO are over. people aren't amazed just by the fact that it's an MMO anymore. The game had better first be a stellar single player experience game, and then worry about making it an MMO. Warhammer wouldn't even be fun as a single player game imho.

Nessingwary the Conservationist
Wow, all of the Nagrand Mastery series of quests in Nagrand have been reduced to only 12 kills each. I guess ol' Hemet Nesingwary has finally seen the light and decided that wiping out the greater part of regions wildlife isn't the coolest move. Truth be told I hated having to kill 30 of each flavour of Clefthoof, Talbuck and Windroc in the zone.
To be honest with Flying now available at level 60 in conjunction with the "nerfing" of the vast majority of Oultand quests, Moekesh's journey to 70 has thus far been a cakewalk

Proto-Drake Whelp - Fly the vanity skies
I never call out my Proto-Drake Whelp on my other toons so I hadn't noticed this until Moekesh, but the vanity pet actually rises up into the air an flies along behind you on your flying mount. Pretty sweet.

Paladin - the unofficial hero class
I swear WoW will soon be Good Knights (Pallys) vs Bad Knights (dk's). If Death Knights are a faceroll, a ret Pally is a faceroll where you smoosh some other blokes face all over your keyboard cause you're just that big a bad ass.

Hellboar: The Other not to rare White Meat
This WoW Burning Crusade quest Hellboar: The Other White Meat in Hellfire Peninsula now has a 100% chance for both drop and conversion to Hellboar Meat...At least it was that way on Moekesh and has never been so on any other toon. Man, this game is pretty ridiculously easy to level now. I mean it already was very solo friendly, more so then any MMO to date, but now it's just a race to 80 and end game. Makes sense though as World of Warcraft really has always been about endgame.

Fel Reavers still scare the sh!t outta me...Oh and Ding 60
Moekesh has made it to Outland so everything old is new again or at least partially forgotten. OK, mebe it was the weed I was smoking, the early hour of the morning and the blustering November sounds outside my window, but I swear Fel Reavers are still spooky fvckrs. The sound they make; the ground they quake still puts the fear of Blizz in me.
Ding 60 btw. WoW, first flying mount is only 47.50 gold now and the Expert Riding lessons for 225 riding skill was only 225 gold. I didn't realize patch 3.2.2 had included these changes.

DDO No No No - back to WoW
Well I gave it a fair shake - level 10 Dwarven Battle Cleric, level 6 Human Ranger, level 6 Human Paladin, and countless re-rolls of chars that made it a few levels before I decided their templates were already trashed.
DDO simply needs more solo-able content beyond the first 4 levels. It's obvious that they put some work into the "newbie" areas to try and make a quick buck off the influx of new players, but the rest of the game seems overlooked and feels beta quality at best. The Combat system is, well, irritating: mobs run around and jump like they are on meth. Worst of all they hop onto game geometry that the player can't reach. In fact the whole "mouselook" system they use in conjunction with the non-working auto attack feature makes fighting mobs a chore and a Carpal Tunnel nightmare.
DDO reminds me so much of SWG. Take a golden franchise and turn it into a pile of bantha poo-doo. I had high hopes for Dungeons and Dragons online from the minute it was announced, but sadly even after 3 years of 'Live" status the game simply sucks.
Micro payment in-game mall systems usually mark the death knell of an MMO. And if ya ask me Turbine Points are DDO's headstone.

Mokesh Exalted with Kirin Tor
While handing in my fishing quest today, Mokesh hit exalted with Kirin Tor
To bad they don't have any gear that I need. Pretty sad really that for a character that never raids, and only has PvP battleground rewards gear, the games factions don't even have gear worth getting. WoW sucks, pretty much.

Moekesh turns 40
My gay-assed Blood Elf Paladin turned 40 today. Not as big a deal as it was back in old school WoW, where I would have only been able to use a mount now, but still a level of note. I bought him a few plate pieces since he know has the Plate Mail skill, and as a bonus I grabbed him Nightblade off the AH for $450 gold. Ouch!

Mokesh takes a break
Well, the summer is here and even Mokesh needs a break from World of Warcraft from time to time. I've been playing around with Flash Builder (Gumbo) 4 as well as polishing my PHP kung-fu of late. I've also been working on my 1's & 0's ( ones and zeros ) web comicstrip so not a lot of time left for Mokesh, Makash, Mokish, Bronte and the gang. Mokesh says, "See ya in the fall, humans"

All Hail King Bronte
Bronte completes the Mid Summer Festival
and is crowned King of the Fire Festival
Hmm, I doubt if Mokesh will be able to steal all the major cities flames, but I may try a few suicide runs and see.

Crusader Mokesh
Mokesh the Crusader
Mokesh got his Exalted Argent Champion of the Horde achievement today along with The Argent Crusade achievement. Although he can now sport the title Crusader I think I'll stiuck with the Bloodsail Admiral title - since I did it before 1/29/2009 sometime in summer 2008. I remember I went all the way to full revered, and was trying to figure out how to grind exhalted, before I realized there was no reward for getting past honored. Did that with Wrath of Darkness and Chaotic Lunacy and some Cake or Death folks.

Mokesh gets his Chef Hat
Mokesh the Chef
Mokesh has had the Chef title since WotLK 3.1 but he just got the hat today along with the Cooking with Style achievement. Now Bronte and Mokesh can both look the part while cooking up their daily grub
Mid Summer Fire Festival BORKED
Kinda sucking that the Mid Summer Fire Festival is broken at the moment. Mokesh who is the Pet Collector can't do the damn quests. The bug affects any player who did the quests last year. When you log in, there is a notice about them "being aware" of and working on the problem, but unless they extend the Mid Summer Fire Festival by a few days it's still gonna suck.

Bronte the Crusader
Bronte the Crusader
Well, Bronte got his Crusader title this morning. The achievement earned is Exalted Argent Champion of the Horde which involves earning exalted status with and the right to represent the entire Horde in the Argent Tournament, plus exalted status with the Argent Crusade.Wintergrasp - Dead as a doornail
Is it just me or did the changes to Wintergrasp in 3.1.2 kill yet another World of Warcraft battleground? Granted Drakkari is a low population server, but except to Tuesdays it's pretty much a ghost town. Personally, I have stopped going on all three of my level 80 toons because I've attained about all ther is to attain from that zone.

Gondria Tamed!!!
Rare spirit beast proves no match for Mokesh
Surprisingly I got Gondria after only looking on two occasions. Total time spent was about 1 1/2 hours. OK, I'll shut-up now. I got lucky; simple. I found her at 69.4, 47.5 at 8:38 am Drakkari server time. Not sure if it was a spawn spot, more likely just a spot along her path.

Introduction - Mokesh the mighty
Mokesh is a level 80 Hunter in the Game World of Warcraft. MOkesh is presently on Drakkari, taking a short siesta from Skywall (his birthplace server). I originally started playing World of Warcraft as a Tauren Hunter named Brawnte. He was a member of Noobdock Saints for awhile who also used to roll with Timesink on Skywall. I ended up leaving the game until the Burning Crusade expansion came out. I decided to reroll and that's how Mokesh came about.
